French A1 Test (Beginner): Test your basic skills for free
Welcome to your self-assessment section for Level A1.
This test is designed for people who are just beginning to learn French. It checks whether you have mastered the basic A1 skills described in the CEFR framework: introducing yourself, asking simple questions and understanding everyday phrases. It is a self-guided check by level, not a predictive placement: you answer 10 questions drawn at random and get a feel for how comfortably you handle A1.

What is included in this A1 level test?
The interactive assessment is divided into two key sections to evaluate your knowledge:
- A1 Grammar: Present tense conjugation, definite and indefinite articles, and simple sentence structure.
